Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR with KW coilovers


Fast beast breaks the lap record at the Nordschleife with a KW coilover suspension.


The 600 hp strong Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR which is serially equipped with a KW coilover suspension, has dashed over the Nordschleife in only 7 minutes in 22 seconds and therefore set a new record. The Viper is now regarded as the fastest serial automobile on the Nurburgring-Nordschleife.

The ACR-version of the Viper is a race version of with an approval for road use. The present record of 7 minutes and 26.4 seconds and has been set by a Corvette ZR1.

As an official supplier, KW is nowadays an important partner for many renowned companies. Also Chrysler USA relies on the competence by the Swabian suspension manufacturer.

For many years, KW automotive GmbH has been co-operating with Chrysler USA who introduced a new racing machine to the market: the Viper SRT10 ACR with a serial KW coilover suspension. This ACR-Viper – the abbreviation stands for American Club Racer – is an optimised Dodge Viper SRT10 model with an approval for road use for all sporty drivers who wish to drive their racing car on a daily basis. Therefore, die-hard racing enthusiasts can drive their car to the race track, dash down the track in high velocities and drive home again afterwards

The Chrysler sports department SRT (Street and Racing Technology) has improved the functional modifications for racing, especially the aerodynamics with an enlarged front- and rear spoiler made of carbon fibre. Therefore, the weight of the Viper ACR could be reduced by approx. 18 kg compared to the regular SRT10. The limited Viper SRT 10 ACR drags its concentrated power from an 8.4 litre V10 engine with variable valve control and an astonishing performance of 608 hp.

A KW coilover suspension guarantees a safe ride on curvy tracks and extraordinary driving stability. The aluminium suspension which KW automotive GmbH especially developed for the hand-made Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR can be individually height-adjusted and moreover, also offers a separately adjustable rebound- and compression damping.

The ACR-version of the Viper is the racing version with an approval for road use.
